What is teaching like?
Where might you fit?
What could change?
What do you want to know?
The school day, workload, planning, students, parents, administration and the parts of the job people don't always see from the outside.
Elementary, middle, and high school can be very different jobs. We'll talk through grade levels, subjects, school environments, and what might matter when considering each.
Salary, benefits, certification, hiring, schedules, summers, and some of the practical trade-offs to think through before making a decision.
Bring your questions. A meaningful part of the session is open conversation with current and former educators.
You don't have to know that you want to become a teacher.
In fact, that's the point.
This session is for people who are curious about teaching and want to understand it before making a decision. Maybe you've been thinking about it for years. Maybe corporate life has you wondering what else is out there. Maybe someone told you you'd make a great teacher.
You don't need to be ready to apply for certification. You don't even need to leave convinced that teaching is right for you.
“No, this isn't for me” is a perfectly good outcome.
